Jewish Support for H.O.M.E.Y. Mural

Sign the Petition in support of the H.O.M.E.Y. Mural

Filed under: Uncategorized — ahianan @ 11:59 pm

The Anti-Defamation League and the San Francisco Jewish Community Relations Council are asking the San Francisco Arts Commission that the youth artists from H.O.M.E.Y. censor their work, and remove or alter the portion of their Solidarity-Breaking Down Barriers mural in San Francisco’s Mission District on 24th and Capp St. that depicts Palestinian experience and resistance. It is important that we, as Jews, support local communities in their struggle for self-determination and their self-expression and be clear that the Jewish Community Relations Council does not speak for us.Please take the time to read and sign the petition/letter to the San Francisco Arts Commission and circulate it widely.

If you feel so moved, please write your own letter to the Arts Commission (links on the petition site) and go see the mural for yourself! To read the letter from the JCRC to the Arts Commission and to view images of the mural online, scroll down on this page.

Thanks for your support!
